Update #3

Well, I arrived safely back in the states on Tuesday morning.  I am sorry for not updating more frequently.  It has been hard to find the time to do so, but now I have some.
I really miss Japan and the friends I made there.  It was such a blessing to be able to go to Japan.

Anyway, on to the recap of what went on in the last week and a half.

Last Sunday (6/27)
Alan, Dianna and Beland gave their testimonies in front of Hamadera Bible Church between 1st and 2nd service.  Our team sang 2 songs for the church in English - Hosanna and You are Holy.  During lunch and dinner we had sayonara parties for Aaron and Mark at HBC.  They both taught English at HBC but are going back to the states after 6 and 2 years respectively.   Although they don't actually leave until today.  It was also Kailene's last full day in Japan before going back to Minnesota after spending 6 weeks at HBC and OPU.

Monday (6/28)
We spent the day at Tennoji High School.  There are only 3 members at this ESS club, but the English teacher brought in his students so we got meet quite a few of the high schoolers.  The teacher was super nice and he really took care of us though while we were there.  He provided drinks and snacks for our group.

Tuesday (6/29)
Free day since we didn't end going to OPU after all.
So we had a sushi lunch with Okada Sensei, Takenaka-san, Aaron, Mark, Tsuyoshi, Tim and the team.  We took 3 tables.  After that the girls went shopping with Takenaka-san. I'm not sure what the guys did, but I think they worked on IT stuff.

Steve and his rows of empty sushi plates.

We were going to shop at PlatPlat but the store we wanted to go to was closed so we went to another small shopping center for supporter gifts and such.

Wednesday (6/30)
We went to OU for the second time and met with the ESS students in the classroom and then ate lunch in the cafeteria with a few of them.  After lunch we played some card games due to boredom.  Then Takaho "Taco" came back from class took us and some of the ESS students around Umeda to shop.  While we were there we met up with Miho, a Japanese student who is a student at CSUN.  She attends GCC and the Crossroads Sunday school when she's in the states.  After shopping for several hours, mainly at Loft, we had dinner with the students at this pretty awesome Osaka style okonomiyaki.  It was soo good!  And we were able to share the gospel with several of the students while walking around and over dinner.

Jun, one of our drivers.  He's always making a funny face when the camera's around.
